MAS 2022 Course Preview

 

Make high school credits fun, learn outdoor activities, pursue a career in the outdoor community, or simply enjoy a wilderness adventure with friends – whatever your goal, MAS is a great place to start living, learning and loving the outdoors!

Students can participate in Mountain Adventure School and start earning high school credits
as soon as they’ve completed Grade 9!

MAS 100 Series

  • Introductory outdoor skills
  • Credit options include:
    • CALM (3 credits)
    • PE 10 or 20 (5 credits)
    • 2 additional CTS credits
  • Two program options!
Program 1:

If you need flexibility, this is the program for you!
For Phys Ed 10 and CALM only, register for MAS 100. This is the In-City Camp offered in Edmonton, Calgary, or Rocky Mountain House.
For those who want the Phys Ed and CALM credits but also want to dip their toes in a bigger adventure, register for MAS 100 and MAS 101 (a one week long Mountain Camp).

 

Program 2:

This is the ultimate experience!
The Full Mountain Camp combines the two camps above into a 13-day experience in the Rocky Mountains. Register in MAS 101C for an unforgettable adventure!

 

MAS 200 Series

  • Basic certifications in outdoor skills
    • Standard First Aid (1 credit)
    • Paddle Canada Skills (1 credit)
  • Credit options include:
    • PE 20 or 30 (5 credits)
    • 3 additional CTS credits
  • Two program options!
Program 1:

This program offers flexibility!
For Phys Ed 20 or 30 only, register for MAS 200. This is a week-long In-City Camp offered in Edmonton.
If you also want to a experience a Mountain Camp, add MAS 201 or 202 to your registration for an 8-day Rocky Mountain adventure!

 

Program 2:

An unforgettable adventure!
The Full Mountain Camp combines the two camps above into a 13-day experience in the Rocky Mountains. Register in MAS 201C or 202C for the ultimate experience!

 

MAS 301

  • Intermediate certifications in outdoor skills
    • Paddle Canada Waterfront Instructor (1 credit)
    • Paddle Canada Camping Basics (1 credit)
  • Credits include:
    • PE 30 (5 credits)
    • 3 additional CTS credits 
  • Two week camp in the Rocky Mountains
  • For returning MAS students only

 

MAS 401

  • Employable outdoor certifications
    • Wilderness Advanced First Aid (1 credit)
  • Credits include:
    • Work experience (3 credits)
    • 2 additional CTS credits
